CHEF CHRISTOPHER BONFILI

Chef Chris Bonfili is a native of the North Hills of Pittsburgh, although the majority of his culinary experience was curated in areas outside of Pennsylvania. His formal training began at the International Culinary Academy and continued at restaurants of various styles throughout Colorado, Utah, and New York.

He was fortunate to train under two James Beard Award winning chefs as he honed his skills at restaurants such as "15 Degrees" and "John's Restaurant" in Boulder, Colorado, as well as "Bistro du Jour" in Park City, Utah. Levi Restaurants gave Chris his first chance as executive chef when he opened their "Aurora Inn" in the Finger Lakes of New York state.

In 2004, the prodigal son returned home, delivering his multifaceted culinary talents to his hometown, which he felt, and still feels, is on the rise in the global culinary market. He used a fusion of Mediterranean, Southwestern, Asian, and New American cuisine using age old culinary techniques as executive chef at the Red Room Cafe and lounge.

Finally, in November of 2009, the chef was able to open a place of his own, a place where he can not only grow as a culinary artist, but satisfy the hunger of the city Pittsburgh.
